Student Chefs Compete at Young Chef Olympiad in Hyderabad

The 11th edition of the Young Chef Olympiad kicked off in India, featuring student chefs from nine countries competing across multiple cities, including Hyderabad, Delhi, and Goa. The event, organized by the International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM), aims to foster international camaraderie and culinary talent, culminating in a grand finale in Kolkata. This year's competition is the largest to date, with nine countries participating in the first round, and the top contenders vying for Rs.10 lakh and a golden trophy. In a related event, the United World Young Chefs Gastronomic Experience brought together chefs from various nations to showcase their cuisines in a friendly, non-competitive atmosphere. Dr. Suborno Bose, chairman of IIHM, emphasized the importance of such initiatives in promoting professional growth and cultural exchange among young chefs. The Olympiad aligns with India's focus on development and sustainability in hospitality, as highlighted by Bose's recent book on AI integration in the sector.
