Andrew Omobamidele Loaned to Strasbourg from Forest

Andrew Omobamidele, a Republic of Ireland defender, is set to join French club Strasbourg on loan from Nottingham Forest until the end of the season, with an option for a permanent transfer. The 22-year-old, who was signed by Forest from Norwich City for around £12 million in 2023, has struggled for playing time, making only one appearance this season. He had been linked with several Championship clubs but opted for Strasbourg, where he is expected to make his debut against Lille. Strasbourg, managed by Liam Rosenior, are currently mid-table in Ligue 1 and see Omobamidele as a long-term investment. This move comes as Omobamidele looks to revive his career, similar to compatriot Jake O’Brien’s successful stint in France. The deal is anticipated to be finalized shortly, with Omobamidele already in France to complete formalities.
