BCB Awaits Clearance for Pakistan Tour Amid Tensions

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is urgently arranging the return of its players Nahid Rana and Rishad Hossain from Pakistan after a drone strike near Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium led to security concerns and the postponement of Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches. Both players, who were participating in the PSL, have expressed unwillingness to continue amid escalating India-Pakistan tensions. The BCB is in constant contact with the players and is coordinating with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the Bangladesh High Commission, and relevant authorities to ensure their safe departure. Additionally, the BCB has stated it will seek government clearance before finalizing Bangladesh's planned tour of Pakistan, which includes five T20I matches. Preparations for the tour are ongoing, but it will proceed only if government security assessments deem it safe. The BCB has reiterated that player and staff safety remains their top priority.
