Warner Bros. Delays The Cat in the Hat Release to November 2026

Warner Bros. Pictures Animation has delayed the release of its upcoming animated film The Cat in the Hat from February 27, 2026, to November 6, 2026. The studio aims to capitalize on the holiday season, when families and children are more available and merchandising opportunities are stronger, despite the increased competition during this period. The film marks the character's animated feature debut and stars Bill Hader as The Cat, with a supporting cast including Quinta Brunson, Bowen Yang, Xochitl Gomez, and others. Directed and written by Alessandro Carloni and Erica Rivinoja, the movie follows a new adventure where mischief, magic, and mayhem take center stage. The Cat in the Hat is part of the newly relaunched Warner Bros. Pictures Animation division, with animation by DNEG and production led by Daniela Mazzucato and Jared Stern.
