Southside Johnny Lyon, the beloved frontman of Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, has announced his retirement from touring due to ongoing health issues, marking the potential end of an era for the iconic New Jersey rock band. The group has canceled their scheduled New Year’s Eve performance, and Lyon's health has been a concern following a hospitalization earlier this year. Meanwhile, REO Speedwagon has officially disbanded after 57 years, citing irreconcilable differences, with their final performance taking place in Las Vegas on December 21. Lead singer Kevin Cronin confirmed the retirement of the band name but stated that the same members will continue performing under his name. The band expressed gratitude to their fans and reflected on their storied history during their farewell show.
