Liverpool starlet joins new club

Oluwaseyi Babajide Ojo, known as Sheyi Ojo, has signed with Slovenian club Maribor, marking the 10th club of his career after a disappointing tenure at Liverpool where he made only 13 appearances and scored one goal. Ojo joined Liverpool at 14 for £2 million but failed to establish himself, spending most of his career on loan at clubs like Fulham, Rangers, and Cardiff City. After a season with Belgian side Kortrijk, he left Cardiff upon contract expiration before finding a two-year deal with Maribor. Ojo was once part of England's U20 squad that won the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2017. His career has seen a total of 258 club appearances and 23 goals. The transition reflects a continued struggle to meet early career expectations.
