Pontiac Drive-By Shooting Kills Auburn Hills Man, Suspect Arrested
A 26-year-old Auburn Hills man was fatally shot in a drive-by shooting near Auburn Avenue and Russell Street in Pontiac, Michigan. The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his wrist, back, and torso and was transported to the hospital, where he later died. Witnesses reported seeing a man in a gray vehicle firing several rounds before fleeing west on Auburn Avenue. Within hours, the Oakland County Sheriff's Office identified and apprehended a 32-year-old Pontiac man during a traffic stop on Middlebelt Road and Long Lake Road in West Bloomfield Township. Sheriff Michael Bouchard condemned the shooting as a "senseless and cowardly act" and praised deputies for quickly arresting the suspect, expressing hope that the perpetrator will face full legal accountability. Authorities continue to investigate and urge anyone with additional information to contact the Sheriff's Office.
