Marilyn Monroe's 1950s Jeans Expected to Fetch $50,000 at Auction
A pair of classic blue jeans believed to have been worn by Marilyn Monroe in the 1954 film 'River of No Return' is set to be auctioned by Julien’s Auctions on March 27, with an estimated sale price of $30,000 to $50,000. The jeans, originally from J.C. Penney, have distressing on the front and an inside label referencing Monroe's body double, Helen Thurston. Previously acquired by designer Tommy Hilfiger for $37,000, they were part of a collection that included other notable celebrity items. Hilfiger has held onto the jeans for over 20 years, framing them in his office. A portion of the proceeds from this auction will benefit Next for Autism. This auction highlights Monroe's lasting legacy, as her iconic fashion pieces continue to captivate collectors and fans alike.
