Cathay Pacific Cancels 90 Flights Due to Engine Issues

Cathay Pacific Airways has canceled a total of 90 flights from September 2 to September 7 due to an engine component failure in its Airbus A350 fleet, primarily affecting regional routes. The issue arose after a fuel line failure led to a brief engine fire during a flight, prompting inspections of all 48 A350 jets. Of the 15 planes identified with necessary repairs, six have been cleared to operate, with the remaining nine expected to resume service by Saturday. The airline has waived ticket change fees for affected travelers and expressed apologies for the inconvenience caused. Many customers, however, have voiced frustration over a lack of timely communication regarding flight cancellations. Cathay Pacific reassured that safety remains its top priority as it manages this unprecedented situation.
