A 17-year-old girl has been arrested and charged with criminal mischief and reckless endangerment after taking an empty New York City subway train on a joyride with a male companion before crashing it into another parked train at the Briarwood station in Queens. The incident, which occurred just after midnight on September 12, involved the pair somehow getting the train operational before the collision. The male suspect, who remains at large, was last seen wearing a blue tank top, red shorts, and carrying a black backpack, while the female was dressed in pink, including a shower cap. Surveillance photos of the suspects have been released by the NYPD, and no injuries were reported from the incident. Authorities are continuing their search for the second suspect and are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
