Hamas Hands Over Rocket Attack Suspect to Lebanese Army Near Sidon

Hamas has handed over to the Lebanese Army a suspect, identified as M.G., accused of participating in rocket attacks on Israel in March. The transfer occurred at the entrance of Ain al-Hilweh refugee camp following coordination between Hamas, Lebanon’s General Security Directorate, and the Lebanese Army. This move comes after Lebanon's Supreme Defense Council warned Hamas and other factions against using Lebanese territory for operations that threaten national security, vowing strict measures to prevent violations of sovereignty. The Lebanese Army and security agencies have recently arrested several individuals allegedly involved in these attacks, emphasizing state control over all armed activity. An official investigation into the suspect’s involvement is now underway under judicial oversight. Lebanese authorities have reiterated their position against any attempts to use the country as a platform for conflict with Israel.
