Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash on Fountain Boulevard Kills One, Injures Two in Colorado Springs

A deadly two-vehicle crash occurred early Saturday morning at the intersection of East Fountain Boulevard and Academy Park Loop in Colorado Springs, resulting in one fatality and multiple serious injuries. The victim who died was not wearing a seat belt, and investigators suspect that speed and alcohol were contributing factors. Two occupants of the other vehicle, a white car that reportedly rolled over, were seriously injured and hospitalized. The Colorado Springs Police Department's Major Crash Team took over the investigation due to the severity of the incident. Additionally, a separate pedestrian incident on North Powers Boulevard and Palmer Park Boulevard on Saturday night resulted in serious but non-life-threatening injuries, with no signs of driver impairment. Authorities closed parts of Fountain Boulevard for several hours to clear the wreckage before reopening the roadway.
