British Man Killed in Suspected Targeted Costa del Sol Attack
A man believed to be a British national in his 30s, reportedly from Liverpool, was shot dead in a suspected targeted attack in Calahonda, a Costa del Sol holiday resort between Marbella and Fuengirola. The shooting happened around 8:15pm on Monday near Club del Sol and Finca Naundrup, with witnesses reporting eight to ten gunshots and a subsequent lockdown of the area. The assailant fled in a Cupra vehicle with foreign plates, which was later found burned out nearby with weapons inside, indicating it was intentionally destroyed by the perpetrator and possible accomplices. Police have not officially confirmed the victim's identity pending a post-mortem, but sources close to the investigation state he was British. The Guardia Civil is leading the ongoing investigation, and no arrests have been made. The incident follows another recent shooting in the region, raising security concerns.
