China is experiencing a troubling surge in mass attacks, resulting in numerous fatalities and injuries over the past few months. The incidents, which often involve vehicles targeting pedestrians or knife-wielding assailants, have prompted widespread concern among citizens and authorities. Notable recent attacks include a vehicle incident at Yong’an Elementary School that injured several students and adults, and a knife rampage at Wuxi Vocational Institute, which left eight dead and 17 injured. The attackers are frequently motivated by personal grievances, such as academic failures or dissatisfaction with life circumstances. With guns heavily restricted in China, these violent acts typically utilize knives or vehicles instead.
