Ohio Man Faces Felony Charge After Boy's Death

Anthony McCants, a 23-year-old from Akron, Ohio, has been charged with felony child endangering following the death of 12-year-old Jadako Taylor, who was subjected to prolonged ice baths. McCants reportedly forced Taylor to take two ice baths, with one lasting 45 minutes and the other 30 minutes, interspersed with physical exercises like pushups. Jadako experienced vomiting and seizures after these punishments and later died at the hospital with a body temperature of 74 degrees Fahrenheit, indicative of hypothermia. McCants, known to the victim's family and responsible for Jadako's care on the day of the incident, pleaded not guilty and is being held on a $500,000 bond, with the possibility of additional charges pending further investigation and autopsy results.
