ABC Confirms 2026 Midseason Premieres for High Potential, The Rookie, Will Trent

ABC has announced the midseason premiere dates for several of its hit series in early 2026, including the return of High Potential Season 2 on January 6, airing at 9 p.m. ET with 11 new episodes following its fall finale. Alongside High Potential, Will Trent Season 4 and The Rookie Season 8 will also premiere on the same day, with The Rookie moving to a 10 p.m. ET slot. High Potential continues to be ABC's top original broadcast series among adults 18-49, with the second season expanded to 18 episodes, up from 13 in Season 1. ABC's midseason schedule also features returning favorites such as 9-1-1, 9-1-1: Nashville, Grey's Anatomy, and comedies like Abbott Elementary and the revived Scrubs. Additionally, American Idol returns with a modified Hollywood Week set in Nashville, and The Bachelorette debuts on a new night in March, emphasizing ABC's commitment to diverse and engaging programming across drama, comedy, and unscripted series.
