Bill Self Becomes Winningest Kansas Coach

Bill Self has become the winningest coach in Kansas basketball history after leading the Jayhawks to a 77-69 victory over Michigan State, surpassing Phog Allen's record of 590 wins. With this win, Self's record improves to 591-143 in his 22 years with Kansas, and he is now just two wins shy of 800 for his entire coaching career. Despite the milestone, Self remained humble, attributing his success to the talented players he has coached, and continued to honor Allen as the all-time best coach at Kansas. His players, however, expressed their pride in playing for him, with center Hunter Dickinson calling Self the best coach in Kansas history. Kansas' season record now stands at 3-0, showcasing their resilience despite a challenging game. The team will return to Allen Fieldhouse, named after Allen, to face Oakland next.
