Beyoncé's haircare brand Cécred has launched a new Protection Collection designed specifically for people who wear protective hairstyles such as braids, wigs, and extensions. The five-product line, available starting August 25, addresses common challenges like hair damage and scalp health during protective styling, featuring proprietary PhytoFerment technology to enhance nutrient absorption and scalp stimulation. Tina Knowles, Beyoncé's mother and vice chairwoman of Cécred, emphasized the personal nature of the collection, noting the lack of effective products for the haircare needs associated with protective styles. The collection includes a detoxifying shampoo, scalp spray, detangling spray, oil treatment, and hair and scalp balm, all packaged in distinctive blue inspired by the Lapis Lazuli stone. Professional hairstylists recommend such specialized products for maintaining hair health through protective styling, and Cécred aims to fill a long-standing gap in the market with scientifically advanced formulations. The launch marks a significant expansion of Cécred's offerings following its initial debut earlier in 2024 and its retail rollout at Ulta Beauty stores nationwide.
