31,000 New Immigrants Arrive in Israel
In the past Jewish calendar year, approximately 31,000 immigrants arrived in Israel from over 100 countries, despite the ongoing war with Hamas and Hezbollah, according to reports from the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration and the Jewish Agency. The largest number of new immigrants came from Russia, totaling 19,850, followed by the U.S. and Canada with over 3,340 combined. Notably, there was a significant increase in immigration interest from Western countries, particularly France, which saw a 352% rise in aliyah applications. Among the new arrivals, 31% are young adults aged 18-35, and 52% are women. The city of Netanya welcomed the most olim, with over 4,700 settling there. The government plans to promote programs to further increase aliyah in the coming year.
