NFL Veteran Jake McQuaide Removed From Ohio Church Over Priest Porn Allegations
NFL long snapper Jake McQuaide was escorted out of Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Church in Green Township, Ohio, after publicly confronting Cincinnati Archdiocese Chancellor Jason Williams during Mass over rumors that two priests used a parish computer to view pornography. Williams had just read a letter from Archbishop Robert Casey denying any substantiated wrongdoing and describing the rumors as uncorroborated and harmful gossip. Despite being told it was not the time for such questions, McQuaide insisted on receiving answers, demanding a clear true or false response, which led to his removal by local police officers; however, he was not charged with any crime. The Archdiocese and local authorities, including the Green Township police and Hamilton County prosecutor's office, confirmed there had been no criminal or ecclesiastical investigations substantiating the allegations. Archbishop Casey's letter also noted that one priest involved was on a previously planned sabbatical and urged parishioners to avoid spreading rumors. McQuaide, a two-time Pro Bowl veteran who grew up near Green Township, has expressed frustration over the scandal and is seeking clarity on the matter.
