Meta AI Expands to 21 New Markets

Meta Platforms Inc. is expanding its AI chatbot, Meta AI, to 21 new markets, including the UK, Brazil, and several countries across Latin America and Asia, with plans to eventually reach 43 countries. This expansion will include support for new languages such as Arabic, Indonesian, Thai, and Vietnamese, enhancing its accessibility. The rollout aims to position Meta AI as the world's most widely used generative AI assistant by the end of 2024, as it currently boasts nearly 500 million monthly active users. Available on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger, the chatbot's expansion also includes integration with Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses for hands-free interaction. However, Meta is withholding its AI launch in the EU due to regulatory concerns. This strategic move places Meta in direct competition with other AI giants like OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Gemini.
