OU Adds North Oval Public Tailgating for 2025
The University of Oklahoma is launching free public tailgating on the historic North Oval (Parrington Oval) for the 2025 football season, marking the first time this location is open for such events. The initiative centralizes tailgating, aiming to unite fans, alumni, and students in a single iconic spot near the stadium. Amenities will include live performances by the Pride of Oklahoma Marching Band, food trucks, kids' activities, LED videoboards for watching other games, and access to nearby indoor restrooms and dining options. OU’s alumni tailgate, Boomer Bash, will also relocate to the North Oval, making it the campus’s premier game day destination. Tailgating spaces are first-come, first-served, with setup permitted the evening before each home game. The move aligns with OU’s transition to the SEC and is part of a broader effort to enhance fan engagement and expand tailgating traditions.
