Ohio Woman Found Dead After Camping Trip

Vendula Wendy Rose, a 41-year-old mother from Ohio, was found dead in a hammock in Alabama's Talladega National Forest on November 30, two months after she went missing during a solo camping trip. Rose had embarked on her journey on September 20, but after failing to return home by October 2, her family reported her as missing. Police located her vehicle at the Pinhoti Trail Head, which contained notes deemed abnormal and a box of ammunition with missing rounds, suggesting she may have been experiencing a mental health crisis. Despite extensive searches involving K9 teams and multiple agencies, her remains were not discovered until the end of November. Authorities have stated there is currently no evidence of foul play, and Rose's cause of death remains undetermined. The Cleburne County Coroner expressed hopes that this resolution would bring closure to her grieving family.
