Spain Hosts Two F1 Races As Imola Axed 2026 Calendar

The 2026 Formula One season will feature a 24-race calendar with significant changes including the removal of Italy's iconic Imola Grand Prix, replaced by a new street circuit in Madrid. Spain will uniquely host two races, with Barcelona's Circuit de Catalunya and the debut of Madrid's IFEMA exhibition centre track. The season begins in Australia on March 8 and concludes in Abu Dhabi on December 6, with the European leg starting in Monaco in early June and ending in Madrid in September. The calendar has been adjusted to improve geographical flow and freight efficiencies, supporting F1's commitment to sustainability, including the use of 100% sustainable fuel. The season also marks a new era with Cadillac joining as the 11th team, Audi partnering with Sauber, and Ford collaborating with Red Bull. Notably, the Canadian Grand Prix will move to May 24, clashing with the Indianapolis 500, while Bahrain and Saudi Arabia races are scheduled in April to accommodate Ramadan.
