U-blox Launches RUBY-W2 Automotive Wi-Fi 7 Module

u-blox has launched its first automotive-grade Wi-Fi 7 module, RUBY-W2, which is built on Qualcomm's Snapdragon Auto Connectivity Platform. This module enhances in-vehicle infotainment and telematics with higher throughput, lower latency, and support for more concurrent users, making it ideal for applications like personalized video and audio streaming. The RUBY-W2 features 2×2 MIMO Multi-Link Operation, enabling simultaneous performance on 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands to manage network congestion effectively. Additionally, it incorporates Bluetooth 5.4 for energy-efficient audio streaming and supports Over-the-Air firmware updates. According to a market report, the demand for Wi-Fi in automotive applications is expected to surge in the coming years, presenting a competitive edge for early adopters of this technology.
