Golden Knights Sign Brandon Saad for Remainder of Season

Brandon Saad has signed a one-year contract with the Vegas Golden Knights after his contract with the St. Louis Blues was mutually terminated. The 32-year-old forward, who struggled with just 16 points in 43 games this season, became a free agent after clearing waivers intended for a move to the AHL. His new deal with Vegas is worth a prorated $1.5 million, allowing him to continue playing in the NHL rather than being sent down. The Golden Knights, currently tied for first in the Pacific Division, hope that Saad's playoff experience as a two-time Stanley Cup champion will bolster their championship push. Saad had been with the Blues since the 2019-20 season and was unable to find a trade partner despite efforts by St. Louis to move him.
