Saif Ali Khan Attack: Bangladeshi National Arrested

Shariful Islam, a 30-year-old Bangladeshi national, was arrested for the attempted robbery and stabbing of Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan in his Bandra residence. Islam, who entered India illegally through Meghalaya, assumed the alias Bijoy Das and used a West Bengal resident's Aadhaar card to obtain a SIM card. A labor contractor named Amit Pandey aided him in securing jobs in Mumbai, where he was ultimately apprehended following a massive police manhunt. Islam allegedly planned the burglary, unaware that he was entering Khan's home, and had been hiding in a marshy area in Thane before his arrest. The police have charged him under the Foreigners Act and Passport Act, and he has been remanded into police custody for further investigation. Despite claims from the defense lawyer that Islam is not an illegal immigrant, police evidence suggests otherwise, and the case continues to stir political debate.
