Paddington in Peru Release Date Pushed to February 2025

Sony and Columbia Pictures have rescheduled the U.S. release of 'Paddington in Peru' from January 17, 2025, to February 14, 2025, coinciding with both Valentine's Day and Presidents' Day weekend. The film, which has enjoyed a successful opening in the U.K. grossing $12.4 million, is now set to compete primarily against Marvel's 'Captain America: Brave New World'. Directed by Dougal Wilson, this is the first film in the Paddington series not helmed by Paul King, and despite some critical reservations, it has received a 93% score on Rotten Tomatoes. The story follows Paddington and the Brown family as they return to Peru to search for Aunt Lucy, who has gone missing. This strategic release aims to attract family audiences during a holiday period, where the franchise has previously performed well. The previous films in the series combined have grossed approximately $600 million worldwide.
