In the first ODI of the series against New Zealand at Bay Oval, England captain Harry Brook played a stunning innings, scoring a career-best 135 runs off 101 balls to rescue England from a dire position of 56-6. Brook's knock included 11 sixes, equalling a rare feat against New Zealand, and was marked by aggressive hitting including three consecutive sixes to reach his century.
