Matty Matheson's Pig Pen Launches Debut Single, Plans Album Release

Pig Pen, a new hardcore band fronted by celebrity chef and actor Matty Matheson, has announced their debut album 'Mental Madness,' set for release on June 27 via Flatspot Records. The band, whose lineup also includes Wade MacNeil (Alexisonfire), Daniel and Ian Romano (Attack in Black), and Tommy Major, recently made their live debut in Toronto. Written and recorded rapidly during the pandemic, the album draws inspiration from 1980s hardcore and was mixed by Arthur Rizk. Their first single, 'Mental Mentality,' addresses struggles with mental health, with Matheson noting the disconnect between outward circumstances and internal feelings. The project marks Matheson's return to hardcore music and has garnered attention both for its authentic sound and his celebrity status. The album's release will be accompanied by a music video and is available for pre-order.
