Raekwon Releases First Solo Album Since 2017 Featuring Nas, Wu-Tang Members

Raekwon has released The Emperor’s New Clothes, his first solo album in nearly a decade, featuring an all-star lineup including Wu-Tang Clan members Ghostface Killah, Method Man, Inspectah Deck, Nas, and the Griselda trio. The 17-track project showcases production from renowned producers such as Swizz Beatz, J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, and Nottz, and represents a continuation of Raekwon’s legacy rather than a pursuit of current trends. The album opens with the track “Bear Hill,” which reflects on themes of Black life and loyalty, and includes contributions from artists like Stacy Barthe and Tommy Nova. Raekwon remains optimistic about future Wu-Tang Clan projects despite challenges coordinating the group, emphasizing that while members are busy with individual pursuits, the collective is not yet finished. The album is part of Mass Appeal’s series celebrating hip-hop legends, alongside releases from other notable artists. The Wu-Tang Clan has also recently completed their final tour, marking the end of an era for the iconic group.
