Teenager faces court for attempted murder of woman pushed in front of Glasgow train
Andrew Wason, a 19-year-old, appeared in the High Court in Glasgow accused of pushing Sophie Scott into the path of an oncoming train at Hyndland railway station on April 20, 2024. He faces a single charge of attempted murder, with court documents alleging the act resulted in injury and posed a danger to her life. Wason was represented by his defense counsel, Allan Macleod, who indicated that two psychiatric reports would be available for the case. No plea was entered during the hearing, and the case was adjourned until later this month for further proceedings. The incident has raised significant public concern due to its violent nature. Wason is currently receiving treatment at the State Hospital in Carstairs.
