Major UK Airports Lift 100ml Liquid Limit

These airports are the first major UK hubs to receive government approval for this change, following several smaller airports that had temporarily implemented the measure. The move aims to speed up security checks and improve passenger convenience, as laptops and large electronics can also remain in hand luggage. The 100ml rule, introduced in 2006 after a failed terror plot, was planned for nationwide removal by June 2024, but delays in scanner installations led to inconsistent enforcement across the UK.
