Apartment Rents Fall 5%-54% Across Ohio Markets July
Apartment rental listing prices in several Ohio cities have generally decreased or remained steady compared to prior periods, according to data from rental marketplace Zumper. In Port Clinton, median rents dropped sharply by 54% from June to a typical $925 in July, and remain substantially below both state and national medians. Fremont saw a 16% decrease from last year's median with July prices steady at $880, also well below state and national figures. Chillicothe experienced a 10% decrease from last year, but prices rose 5% from June to $874, still significantly below state and national medians. Mansfield's rental prices decreased 5% from last year, with one-bedroom rents falling slightly and two-bedroom rents steady at $850 in July, maintaining a large gap below broader medians. Statewide, Ohio's rental prices are slightly higher than in June, while nationwide apartment rents remain essentially unchanged. The data includes all apartment sizes and excludes occupied or unavailable units, reflecting current listing trends in these metropolitan areas.
