Global Beatles Day Celebrated Across UK, US Communities

Global Beatles Day, celebrated on June 25th, honors The Beatles' music and their message of peace and love, marking the historic 1967 live satellite broadcast of "All You Need Is Love" to over 400 million viewers. Celebrations took place worldwide, including at Lydfords Care Home in East Hoathly, where residents enjoyed Beatles music and discussions, and in Liverpool, the band's hometown, which hosts numerous Beatles-related landmarks. The Indiana Music History Project in Indianapolis marked the day by opening a new event space to celebrate local music heritage and the global impact of The Beatles, a holiday founded by Indianapolis native Faith Cohen. The 1967 "Our World" broadcast, featuring The Beatles, was a groundbreaking multinational satellite program aiming to showcase cultural unity during the Vietnam War era.
