Block Island Plane Crash Sends Three to Hospital

A Piper Cherokee (also referred to as Cherokee Archer) crashed at Block Island State Airport in Rhode Island around 12:30 p.m. with three people onboard. All three occupants were transported to Block Island Medical Center, and their conditions have not been disclosed. Initial reports suggested a fatality, but most sources now state that all three survived the crash and remain hospitalized. Witnesses noted that the aircraft attempted to land twice before coming to rest upside down in bushes near the end of the runway. Over 20 emergency responders from local fire, police, rescue, and airport staff responded to the incident. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
