Richard Sherman Charged With DUI, Arraignment Set

Former Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman has been charged with DUI following his February 2024 arrest in Renton, Washington, after prosecutors received delayed blood test results showing a blood alcohol content of 0.11, above the legal limit. The charge carries an enhancement due to Sherman's refusal to take a breath test at the scene. He was pulled over for speeding 79 mph in a 60 mph zone and showed signs of intoxication, including bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. The delay in charging is attributed to a backlog at the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab. This is Sherman’s second DUI-related charge, following his 2021 misdemeanor guilty plea for negligent driving and criminal trespass. Sherman, who currently works as a football analyst, is scheduled for arraignment on June 30, 2025.
