China Seeks Regional Science and Technology Collaboration with Japan, South Korea, ASEAN

China is actively promoting enhanced regional cooperation in science and technology, urging neighbors including Japan, South Korea, and ASEAN countries to collaborate more deeply on cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics, biomedicine, digital economy, electric vehicles, and clean energy. Premier Li Qiang emphasized the importance of joint scientific research and innovation as critical drivers for regional growth and resilience, while advocating for resolving differences through dialogue to avoid external interference and conflicts. This push aligns with China's broader strategic goals to foster solidarity and economic integration in East Asia amid geopolitical tensions. Concurrently, Bulgaria and China have agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation in science, technology, and high-level innovation, focusing on 20 joint projects across nine priority areas like quantum technologies and green energy. Both China and Bulgaria highlight the significance of investing in young researchers and promoting public trust in science to sustain long-term scientific collaboration.
