Medical marijuana ballot

In Kentucky, over 100 cities and counties will hold referendums in November regarding the establishment of medical marijuana businesses, as the new medical marijuana program is set to begin on January 1. Local governments can choose to opt in or out, with a significant portion of the population in counties that have already opted out completely, particularly in south central Kentucky. Meanwhile, in Nebraska, two medical marijuana initiatives have successfully gathered over 89,000 valid signatures to appear on the November 2024 ballot, aiming to protect patients and create regulatory oversight. Both initiatives have met the required thresholds across numerous counties, reflecting strong public support. Additionally, a referendum concerning a school choice bill will also be on the ballot in Nebraska. The Secretary of State is finalizing the verification process for these initiatives ahead of the certification deadline.
