NinjaOne plans $252M acquisition of Dropsuite

NinjaOne has announced its intent to acquire Australian cloud data backup vendor Dropsuite for approximately $252 million, a deal expected to close in the first half of 2025 pending various approvals. This acquisition aims to enhance NinjaOne's offerings in SaaS backup services and data loss prevention, responding to the growing need for robust data protection solutions amidst rising cyber threats. According to Gartner, by 2028, 75% of organizations will prioritize the backup of SaaS applications, a significant increase from just 15% in 2024. Both companies believe that integrating Dropsuite’s data protection capabilities will better serve customers by providing comprehensive safeguarding for both SaaS applications and physical devices. The Dropsuite board has unanimously recommended the deal, highlighting it as a compelling opportunity for shareholders to realize their investment at a premium. Additionally, the acquisition aligns with the evolution of endpoint management, as organizations increasingly need to protect diverse devices and applications in a remote work environment.
