Pedestrians killed in West Houston, St. Paul incidents

A pedestrian was struck and killed in West Houston early Sunday morning while attempting to cross a busy roadway; the driver remained on the scene and was not impaired. Separately, in St. Paul, a man named Cher Vang, 46, was also killed after being hit by a vehicle on Highway 52 early Saturday morning. The Minnesota State Patrol reported that Vang was walking in the roadway when he was struck; the driver, who was not injured, was also found to have had no alcohol in their system. Authorities did not clarify why Vang was on the highway at the time of the incident. Both cases highlight ongoing concerns regarding pedestrian safety in urban areas.
