His donation was announced on Instagram, emphasizing support for those living in shelters and the rescue of animals. The Dodgers, along with other sports teams in Los Angeles, have collaborated to sell 'LA Strong' merchandise, with proceeds going to relief efforts. These initiatives include partnerships with Fanatics and aim to benefit organizations such as the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and the American Red Cross. Ohtani's teammate, Freddie Freeman, and his wife, Chelsea, have also contributed $300,000 to various fire relief organizations. Collectively, LA sports teams have committed to donating $8 million towards these efforts.
