Police Confirm Body of Missing Teen Found in Llandudno

North Wales Police have confirmed that the body recovered on May 14 from the West Shore area of Llandudno is that of 16-year-old Athrun, who went missing on May 10 while on holiday with his family. Athrun, described as vulnerable and autistic, was last seen wearing blue and white patterned swimming shorts near the boating lake and playpark. Extensive search efforts involving multiple agencies, including underwater teams, police air support, RNLI, and coastguard, were conducted across land, air, and sea. Chief Inspector Trystan Bevan expressed condolences to Athrun’s family, thanked the public and agencies for their support, and requested privacy for the family during this difficult time. Authorities are working with the local coroner to assist with enquiries, and hope that identifying the body provides some answers for the family. The community and search teams had held hope for Athrun’s recovery until the body was found.
