Mother Charged with Capital Murder in Daughter's Death

Channel Yonko, a 30-year-old mother from Houston, has been charged with capital murder after allegedly throwing her 17-month-old daughter, Hannah, from a third-floor hotel balcony in Galveston. Witnesses reported seeing something tossed from the hotel window, and police discovered Hannah wrapped in a sheet and unresponsive on the street. Despite immediate medical attention, Hannah succumbed to her injuries shortly after being taken to the hospital. Investigators revealed that the child had puncture wounds in addition to trauma consistent with a significant fall. Yonko is currently being held without bond, and police are reviewing surveillance footage for further evidence.
