Nvidia's Project DIGITS AI Supercomputer Unveiled

Nvidia has unveiled Project DIGITS, a compact, personal AI supercomputer designed for developers, researchers, and students, priced at $3,000. Featuring the new GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip, DIGITS offers up to 1 petaflop of AI performance at FP4 precision and can handle AI models with up to 200 billion parameters — expandable to 405 billion with two linked units. This system is equipped with 128GB of unified memory and up to 4TB of NVMe storage, providing the computational power typically reserved for larger systems. The initiative aims to democratize access to high-performance AI computing, allowing users to run sophisticated AI models locally without relying on cloud infrastructure. Nvidia's collaboration with MediaTek ensures power efficiency, making this desktop device capable of significant AI processing while drawing power from a standard outlet. DIGITS will be available in May 2025 and represents a significant step towards making advanced AI tools more accessible to a broader audience.
