Bomb Threats Disrupt Indian Transport Systems

In recent days, multiple Indian flights and a train were disrupted due to bomb threats, predominantly received through the social media platform X. On Monday, three international flights from Mumbai were delayed or diverted, with the threats later identified as hoaxes. This was followed by another series of threats on Tuesday affecting seven flights, including an Air India flight to Chicago which was diverted to Canada, and the Mumbai-Howrah Mail train. Despite the disruptions, all affected flights and the train were eventually cleared after thorough security checks, and the social media account responsible for the threats has been suspended. Authorities have called for a high-level meeting to address the rising frequency of such threats, which have also targeted other public sites like malls and schools earlier in the year.
