Thailand, China deepen cooperation marking diplomatic relations' 50th anniversary

Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has pledged to deepen cooperation with China, emphasizing mutual support as both nations prepare to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic relations in 2025. During her recent visit to China, she signed over a dozen agreements aimed at enhancing bilateral economic ties and addressing issues like cyber scams affecting both countries. Paetongtarn highlighted the importance of the China-Thailand High-Speed Railway project, which aims to facilitate trade and strengthen connections among China, Thailand, and Laos. Additionally, both countries agreed to enhance law enforcement cooperation to combat trans-boundary crimes, including online scams and human trafficking. The discussions also emphasized Thailand's commitment to ensuring the safety of Chinese tourists amid recent concerns about crime.
