Johnny Depp to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award in Rome

Johnny Depp is set to premiere his biopic 'Modì', based on the life of Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani, at the Rome Film Festival, where he will also receive a Lifetime Achievement award. The film, which stars Riccardo Scamarcio as Modigliani and features notable actors such as Al Pacino and Antonia Desplat, is set during World War I and chronicles a pivotal 72-hour period in the artist's life. Following its debut at the San Sebastian Film Festival, 'Modì' will screen in Rome's non-competitive Grand Public section. The festival will take place from October 16-27, also honoring Viggo Mortensen with a Lifetime Achievement award for his film 'The Dead Don’t Hurt'. Depp's return to directing comes after a tumultuous period marked by his defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard, which he won but that has nonetheless affected his career. The film is produced by Barry Navidi Productions and IN.2 Films.
