Evgenii Ptitsyn Extradited on Ransomware Charges

Evgenii Ptitsyn, a 42-year-old Russian national, was extradited from South Korea and has appeared in U.S. federal court to face charges related to his alleged role in the Phobos ransomware operation. This ransomware group is accused of extorting over $16 million from more than 1,000 victims, including schools and hospitals, since its inception.
