Prime Video Orders Two Seasons of Scarpetta

Prime Video has officially ordered a two-season adaptation of Patricia Cornwell's Kay Scarpetta novels, featuring Nicole Kidman as the titular character and Jamie Lee Curtis as her sister, Dorothy. The series, which has been in development for over a year, will explore the complex personal and professional relationships of Kay Scarpetta, a forensic pathologist returning to Virginia. Kidman and Curtis will also serve as executive producers, alongside Liz Sarnoff, who will write and showrun the series. The cast includes Bobby Cannavale, Simon Baker, Ariana DeBose, Rosy McEwen, and Jake Cannavale. Cornwell expressed excitement about the project, highlighting the talent involved and her long-standing interest in bringing the novels to screen. Blumhouse Television and Amazon MGM Studios are producing the series, further solidifying the collaboration between prominent names in film and television.
